Backerkit has a NO AI ART policy. As a lover of art, watching industry giants unapologetically embracing AI art and veteran designers defend their use of AI art makes me incredibly frustrated. Although I've already ran 8 successful Kickstarter campaigns, I want to believe in Backerkit's promise and throw my support behind a platform that promises to stand by artists.

When Backerkit announced Pocketopia, an event meant to gather real indie game designers in order to lift up smaller creatives, I knew I had to participate.

As a one man designer and publisher, selling expensive deluxe components is simply impossible without crowdfunding. I do not have access to distributors nor means of getting my games into large retail stores to enable a large print run.

$60 for a deluxified frog game is also a really hard to sell just for component upgrades, so the only way to fund a deluxe edition of POND with premium full color wooden meeples would be to sell directly to frog game lovers like you!

This campaign can offer the deluxe editions for those who want it while giving me the funds needed to manufacturer my initial POND print run and bring it to conventions in the future.

Help me make POND into a reality and show solidarity with human artists by supporting Pocketopia today!

Full In Depth How To Play Video of POND in 4 minutes

POND is an easy to learn 2 to 4 player competitive frog board game about leading your cute meeples across a map of many small ponds.

Fight off your opponent's meeples with a fast and simple dice combat system, gain control of a pond to generate victory points every turn, create a unique deck of Frog Cards with a classic deck builder system to fuel your actions each turn, and build an engine with legendary frog heroes that provide permanent abilities!

These are REAL stretch goals. I want to make the deluxe edition of POND into as premium of a product as possible, and which every 1000 copies printed, the production costs of POND will drop enough for me to add a much more expensive component to every copy for free.

Having wooden Lilypad tokens for the small frog meeples to sit would just be SO much cuter than cardboard Lilypad tokens, and a playmat for the shop would make picking up cards to buy so much smoother.

If you know someone who'd like this game, SHARE IT WITH THEM!!!

Lets make POND as DELUXE as possible~

This is my second original board game after Re;ACT - The Arts of War.

You can read dozens of reviews praising the component quality of Re;ACT on BGG or Amazon and I plan on giving POND even more love and attention.

Re;ACT was delivered to backers last year, but it unfortunately took half a year longer than I expected. Therefore, I am giving myself a much longer timeline for POND with hopes delivering early instead if things proceed smoothly!

If everything goes well, POND can be delivered as soon as December this year, but the below timeline is my estimate for the absolute slowest timeline. Join my Discord to get the behind the scenes updates!

  • April 3rd - Crowdfunding Campaign Ends
  • April 28th - Pledge Manager Opens
  • Q3 2025 - Manufacturing
  • Q1 2026 - Importing Games
  • Q2 2026 - Deliveries Begin

Shipping costs will be calculated based on your location and the total weight of your shipment.

Payment for shipping will be collected when packages are ready to ship via the Backerkit pledge manager.

Below are estimated shipping prices for 1 x Deluxe Edition (Taxes not included):

  • USA ~ $12
  • Canada / Mexico ~ $22
  • UK ~ 16$
  • Europe ~ $18
  • China ~ $12
  • East Asia ~ $18
  • South East Asia ~ $24
  • Australia / South America ~ $34

The Ming behind Brother Ming is a passionate game designer that has has been featured on Penny Arcade, Destructoid, and even Kotaku for his various original and fan zine style board games.

After publishing Anna's Roundtable and Genshin Tarot, two high quality fan games, he published Re;ACT with his own Original IP. He loves working with artists, and has commissioned over 500 different individuals to date across his various fan zines and fan games, and so for his first original IP, he teamed up with wickedalucard to create world all about artists with super powers.

After the success of Re;ACT, Ming quit his 9 to 5 job to pursue a career in board game publishing full time. He's spent the last year designing and developing POND in order to bring an adorable frog themed board game to the world so that he will finally have a game that he can show his parents (and also because he became addicted to frog memes).

His last project, Star Rail Tarot, featured gorgeous art by a team of over 40 incredibly talented contributors. Ming has developed a strong relationship with artists and is a staunch advocate for human driven art.

He also has a passion for well designed packaging and inserts. His last game, Re;ACT, has intentional thought put behind both the standard edition and the deluxe edition, allowing the game to feel great no mater which version you got.
