First off, I just want to say that this feedback comes from a place of deep appreciation for Ars Magica. I’ve been an avid fan since I first opened my local edition of the 3rd Edition, and I’m truly excited to see the Definitive Edition come to life. My hope is that this new version might address one of the major hurdles I’ve seen with 5th Edition, especially when introducing new players to the system. One significant barrier to entry I’ve encountered is the organisation of terms and definitions, which sometimes appear long after being introduced or are presented in a less-than-intuitive order. I believe addressing this could really enhance the experience for newcomers. For example, in the last paragraph of the character type introductions on page 17, the text dives into specifics about grogs and their virtues and flaws, but these concepts (like "virtues" or "flaws" and their magnitude and types) haven’t yet been clearly defined. This can be confusing, especially since more detailed information about Magi and Companions doesn’t come until much later (more than ten pages afterwards). https://imgur.com/a/YSvMLGx It would be fantastic if an editor could review this with accessibility in mind, as I think this issue is very much fixable. I’d even be happy to help go through the manuscript if you’re open to it, as I think it would go a long way in making the game even more approachable. Thanks for considering, and I’m really looking forward to introducing even more people to the best setting ever. In my humble opinion.
