Hi all!

Since we’re already funded and there aren’t any stretch goals to talk about, I figured I’d provide some creator commentary. I hope you enjoy this rummage through various thoughts and ideas that popped into my head while designing Song of the Scryptwyrm.

"Books bend space and time."
   - Terry Pratchett, Guards! Guards!

When I run RPGs, there are a few concepts that I inevitably gravitate toward. If you’re thinking “I bet it’s libraries,” you’re not wrong. But in addition to libraries, I love to muck about with time… and there are multiple places where time muckery appears in Song of the Scryptwyrm.

Exhibit 1: The Forbidden

Here’s the card for The Forbidden without the symbol/title/etc. scribbled on top of it:

It's a letter that got time looped during the delivery process, and it amuses me greatly that this apparently happens often enough that the postal service has a stamp and bespoke caution tape to slap on affected letters. Plus the letter/number set in the lower left corner of the top image is the call number for Terry Pratchett’s Thief of Time. It seemed appropriate.

Exhibit 2: Stolen Document Investigation Form

There’s a series of checkboxes you can use to identify issues that came up during the investigation, including time travel. At least you don't have to complete an addendum when it happens.
Thanks for reading through my ramblings. If there’s an element of the game that you’d like me to chat about here, let me know in the comments!
