Project Update: December Update, with video!

Hey folks,

Well, we're getting close! Everything is off to manufacturing, and we've gotten back from images of the proofs. They'll be sending us the physical proofs next week from China, so I hope to have them before the holidays so we can approve printing to proceed.

One hiccup... the dice look like crap! The manufacturers provided me with images of the dice, and they were exceptionally bad. They are going to have to remake the proofs with new specifications, which is going to take a few weeks. But we have to do it. I can't deliver you the ugly things they made the first time around. We'll get it sorted!

Here's a video of the proof books they printed. They need some tweaking, but overall they look pretty good. My hope is to give them a thorough physical review in a couple of weeks (when they arrive) and have feedback for them before the end of the year. Once that happens, it should only be a few more weeks for the full print runs.

Thanks for your patience, everyone. This is out first time working with an overseas printer, and it has been a process. We're learning. It will only get easier from here!

Happy holidays!

Project Update: And we're off! (Things are headed to print)

Hey folks,

Just a quick note to let you all know that nearly everything is off to the printers! Woohoo! I'll have an update soon as to when we should expect shipping to start. There could be some delays in freight from China as well as domestic and international shipping, based on where things stand with logistics and shipping companies. I'm just not sure yet.

One more quick note... We had to change course on the King for a Day book a bit. We had originally intended to have two one-shot adventures in the book, in addition to the conclusion of The Real Thing adventure. After doing the layout, we only had room for one of the one-shots, and we still came in 16 pages longer than we planned! So, Woodpecker from Mars will be in the KFAD book, but Zombie Eaters will not. That said, we'll be issuing Zombie Eaters as a PDF-only adventure to all backers, once it it laid out and proffed.

Cheers! Rave on!

Project Update: Final Update before we go to print!

Hey folks, sorry for the delay in sending this update. It has been a jam-packed few weeks!

I'll be quick.

First, every single bit of writing is complete for both books! The content is great, and we are very excited about the main Angel Dust and KFAD stories as well as Woodpecker from Mars and Zombie Eaters. You're going to love them!

Second, the editing is nearly complete. I (Jason W.) have finished editing all of the main book content last month. I am almost done with Woodpecker from Mars. Zombie Eaters will be done by the end of next week. All in all, the editing has been slower than I would have liked. A good bit of the slowness has the struggle to shorten everything. I've had to train my brain to say things in more concise ways, which has been difficult. Both Jason P. and I tend to be long-winded, and that has been working against us in these last two books. All that said, we're getting close!

Layout is set to commence in two weeks and will be done in September. As you all saw with the (nearly) complete PDF of Angel Dust, we're producing a quality product that sticks to the design and format of The Real Thing book one. The Real Thing came in at 128 pages. Angel Dust us at 136. My hope is to get King for a Day down to 128 or 136... but right now it is closer to 150. That's not ideal. Cross your fingers for me!

So, it looks like we're going to print in October. This is well behind our initial estimates. My hope is that you will all forgive me once you have the books in your hands. They are going to be epic!

Cheers,

Jason, Jason, and some other helpful folks
