How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.
Project FAQ
When will I get my ebook?
Ebooks will be delivered soon after the project funds. The book is edited and ready to go. Once the pledges are collected, I'll be sending out surveys for your email address. Then it's just a matter of days/week or two. I'll have to include people in the THANK YOU section in the ebook and book. Expect an email from Bookfunnel.
What format is the ebook in?
The book will be in your choice of ePub or PDF.
How will I receive my ebook?
Bookfunnel will deliver your ebook and PDF of the digital map as long as you fill out your email in the backer survey.
Do reward tier pricing include shipping?
No. Shipping will be calculated and collected at the end of the campaign through the pledge manager.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. HOWEVER. I am based in the United States. Estimates to other countries can be pricey. See shipping table for estimates. After we collect addresses, we'll have a concrete shipping cost.
When will physical rewards be mailed?
The book is completed, edited, and formatted. As soon as the project funds, I will send the proofs to the printer. I will send out a backer survey to collect addresses. Paperbacks and hardbacks will be mailed to the address listed in the backer survey as soon as they return from the overseas printer. December of 2024 is estimated ship date. Delays in shipping may happen.

**spoiler** This is a kissing book--a low spice book. There is plenty of chemistry in their relationship, but it only ends in kisses.
Where did you get the idea for your book?
I actually had a dream where the princess was engaged to a rich fiancé. A poor palace worker boy liked her. When she went into the future, only the poor palace boy recognized her. The idea pulled at me, tickled the edges of my brain until wrote a story around it.
What tropes are in your book?
Enemies to lovers. He's from a conquered country that yearns for magic and independence. She's the princess who must save her people from a devastating plague. Heist They have to rally the forces to steal the cure from the wicked King Oakum. Slow burn romance She can't have him. As the princess, she is supposed to marry someone in the gentry or nobility, not a peasant from the conquered land. She saves him.
