So, after being stopped in our tracks by the COVID lockdown, and our tour getting cancelled (all tickets were refunded), we're about to record our debut album, 'Breaking Out' to follow our first two, critically acclaimed EPs, 'Dancing for Money' and 'Supernaturalation'.
Everything was going so well! The plaudits were coming thick and fast, and the money that would be made from the tour would fund our first album. As we all know, that's not how it happened, and we ended up being out of pocket by thousands (you don't get back the money spent on marketing).
So we need some help...
We've written 23 tracks for the album, 13 of which we're recording in the studio, and 10 of which will make it onto the album (all killer, no filler).
We've also teamed up with legendary, Grammy award winning producer, Mike Exeter (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Massive Wagons, Those Damn Crows, Cradle of Filth...) who will make sure that this album will blow your sonic socks off!
The 'Molly Karloff' sound is there, with all the energy and punch that our fans have experienced from our live shows, which will deliver a 'no holds barred' belter of a debut album we know you'll love!
All of that studio time costs money, and we need some financial help to finish the recording, mixing and mastering of the album itself, along with paying for the PR and marketing that will follow for the album's release and the supporting tour..
Who are Molly Karloff?
This Oxfordshire-based trio have continued to build on the plaudits earned from their debut EP, with their follow-up, ‘Supernaturalaton’.
Continuing with the now distinctive ‘Molly Karloff’ sound, and the theme of contagious guitar hooks and catchy melodies, their 2nd EP, was released through Roulette Media Records on 6th March 2020 to excited praise in the press.
‘Supernaturalation’ was described by Powerplay Magazine as ‘straight to the naughty centre, ballsy rock’ - 9/10. Fireworks Magazine went further, acclaiming ‘what Royal Blood might sound like if they wrote some good songs to go alongside their riffs’.
Hard Rock Hell Magazine summed up the hugely positive reaction to the EP by echoing the sentiments of others as ‘an assault on your brain sort of music, smashing its way into your head and staying there in a fabulous way and I bloody love it!’
After being invited to play as the house band for the Jon Holmes Show on BBC Radio, the band released their single, ‘She Said’. Much radio airplay followed from the likes of Hard Rock Hell Radio, MMH Radio and Planet Rock, with the accompanying video attracting over 350 thousand views in the first couple of weeks, on Facebook alone!
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic curtailing the band’s UK 2020 tour after only three dates, they have continued to garner positive attention from both the press and fans alike, while beginning work on their forthcoming debut album.
In the meantime, the band collaborated with top producer, Romesh Dodangoda (Motorhead, Bring Me The Horizon, Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral For A Friend) to mix their release, ‘Do It Again’ accompanied by a highly entertaining music video featuring the band scrubbed up as medical practitioners in a hospital where things get out of hand!
The band followed up 'Do It Again' with their charity single, 'She Said' in aid of the mental health charity, 'Mind' which featured prominently on the main playlist of Planet Rock for three weeks, with the BBC also featuring the band on their 'Introducing' show: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p096g3zz
Currently, the band are now working with legendary, Grammy award winning producer, Mike Exeter (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Massive Wagons, Those Damn Crows, Cradle of Filth...) on the production of their debut album 'Breaking Out', due for release in the Spring of 2022 on Off Yer Rocka Recordings.
To help with the financial commitments of finishing the recording of the album, and the following PR & marketing costs, the band hope that you'll be able to help bring this exciting debut album into reality...
The high-energy performances of this electrifying Oxford-based band are comprised of Simon Gee (vocals, guitar), Dan Podbery (bass) and Jowie Adkins (drums).
