World’s Largest RPGs has purchased a variety of d20 titles from Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) in order to update and reissue them for the role-playing community.
“We’re excited to bring these iconic RPG products back into print," says World’s Largest RPGs President Frank Uchmanowicz.
“These products have been near and dear to me,” adds AEG President John Zinser.“ The guys at World’s Largest RPGs are skilled pros; these d20 titles are in good hands.”
The Platinum Edition of World’s Largest Dungeon will launch its crowdfunding campaign in the fourth quarter of 2024 or first quarter of 2025. This updated edition will incorporate the latest rules, enhanced editing, and stunning new artwork and maps, all meticulously overseen by our publishing partner, Strange Owl Games.
“It’s an honor to shepherd these great books back into print,’ says John-Matthew DeFoggi, Line Manager at Strange Owl Games. “While the originals were groundbreaking, we’re committed to elevating the editing, design, and production values to new heights.”
The crowdfunding will include new material for WLD, as well, in the form of Secret Doors adventures: completely new, unexplored portions of the dungeon, written by a variety of talented RPG designers. Plus, partnering with contest organizers Portals to Adventure, all aspiring amateur RPG writers will be invited to submit their own Secret Door adventures for fan review and vote, and the winning entries will also be included in the Secret Doors book.
“This Secret Doors contest is a first in the industry,” says Portals to Adventure CEO Timothy Brown. “New writers have a chance to show their stuff, get some prize money, and get published as part of the World’s Largest Dungeon Platinum Edition.”
World’s Largest RPGs will follow WLD-PE with World’s Largest City and even more ambitious projects in the WL vein, as well as an aggressive publishing schedule to reissue the other AEG d20 books, such as the popular Toolkits.
