Pages: About 200 Size: 6.625 X 10.25 inches Paperback ACT 1 of Sombulus introduces Astyr, a world-hopping scavenger from the winged, magic-based Demshul culture, where the essence they draw from objects/creatures in the Myriad Worlds is used as currency. Flippant and carefree, he's hit the jackpot this time: an immortal king who can't seem to get the hang of dying asks Astyr to take his immortality. It's a tough task, but if he can pull it off, he'll have it made!
Astyr takes his job... very seriously, as you can see.
Sydney, the zealous paladin sworn to fight the Demshul, is not so lucky. Her pursuit of Astyr quickly lands her in the royal prison and under the scrutiny of the stern princess, who is convinced she's sent to end her father's immortal life and won't take "no" for an answer.
Their mutual friend Rana is also caught in the middle of the kingdom's troubled past, though Rana's curious inventions, kind nature, and strange ability to talk to any machine might just come in handy when both Sydney and Astyr's situations take a sharp left turn.
Daring escapes, magic gone wrong, and desperate royals collide as the world bursts into color and they all must find a way to work together to save the kingdom!
ACT 2 of Sombulus shows us a day in the life of Sydney, Rana, Astyr, and Astyr's uptight brother Tenge, a gifted crafter of essence rubrics. The quiet Demshul outpost they call home is a quick stop for travelers to rest their wings before jumping to a new world. But when a film crew kidnaps Astyr, Rana builds a vehicle powered by non-sequiturs, and Sydney challenges black market merchants to drinking contests, things won't stay restful for long.

Sombulus is a webcomic series that started in 2010, and still updates over at sombulus.com. It's been almost ten years since I ran my first Kickstarter campaigns and brought Sombulus Books 1 and 2 to print for the first time. And, well! After many conventions and online support from you all, I sold out of pretty much all of them! 😊
Booktopia is a great opportunity to make something new and exciting for folks wanting to get into Sombulus for the very first time, to help me get ready for the next installment of the printed story, and also to offer a little something new.
This remastered edition will combine Sombulus Book 1 and Sombulus Book 2 into a single book omnibus volume (a Somnibus, if you will). It will feature cleaned-up art, a few all-new scenes, and more emphasis on our favorite world-hopping chaos trio. I'm going to see about incorporating more color; something that was much more expensive 10 years ago but is easier now! And a couple of other upgrades too!
