Wonderful Street Maps

Serenissima Obscura includes two large street maps of real Venice and its shadow version, as well as six detail maps for the sestieri (city quarters). All city quarters are fleshed out with specific descriptions, additional story hooks, NPCs and locations.

Zooming in: Setlets and Campaign Frames

Follow the classical approach of a group of adventurers from different ways of life or try out another game style: We present more than a dozen of campaign frames and setlets to organise the group in sub-settings that are either historically accurate or based on our mystical background. Among them are: The Convent, Henchmen of the Ten, Servants of the Stone, the Signori de la Notte and Diplomats & Dungeons. The picture below shows a Trouser Club being inspected by some Arsenalotti who serve as city watch, two other possible setlets.

Freedom of Choice: Delve into Horror and Mystery

Are you looking for absolute freedom to play, or do you need a little more guidance? Our adventure modules allow for a multitude of ways that your game can unfold. These modules can either be used independently or alongside a bigger story arch. Depending on your preferences, you can focus on investigation in historical Venice or discover the darkest side of the city. You may even choose a dungeon-like play-style. Or you combine everything into one long campaign. It is entirely up to you!

Monsters, Monsters Everywhere

Both the setting guide and the adventure modules are filled with fascinating monsters and villains – all of which can be confronted in the course of the campaign or used independently. All opponents come equipped with full stats blocks for 5e and – if we get enough support from the community – for Ars Magica and another system.
