Inspired by World of Warcraft’s Boss Battles + Mega Man’s Power Up Progression + Sid Meiers' Pirates!

Build your ship up from a leaky dinghy, to a floating palace of destruction! Gather crew and cannons, roll gobs of dice, and take back New Caribbea!

Red Tides: A Tale of New Caribbea is a 1-4 player cooperative dice battler with RPG elements set in the fantastical world of New Caribbea.

Each encounter you’ll choose an opponent – a mark that is fat with plunder but within your current ability to subdue. You’ll fire your cannons, fly your colors, and then outmaneuver them to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the pain you give. You seal your life as a pirate by opening up the chests and crates in the hold, plunder to take back and spend lavishly in the secret pirate port at the Isle of Souls. You take their power and join it alongside yours.

When you’re ready, you’ll board their ship, and after a bloody assault, you take their ship as your own. Build  upon your starter ship and extend its capabilities, more places to shove cannons, more crevices to house crew, and more places to customize your play style. By the end, you Captain a terrifying floating palace of destruction.

If you want to stand a chance against the greatest pirate of this age you must coordinate with your table mates, discussing how you plan to play, how you want to load out your ship, and as you grow what role you think you can fill.

Together you weave a team that is greater than the sum of its parts, able to react to the unknown, knowing when to sail forth, blast indiscriminately, or launch a crew assault. This growth, these choices, are the heart of the triumph you feel when you overcome the final boss.

Every ship needs a mascot, a pet, or a living totem to bring good fortune...

The Calrissa's Menagerie mini-expansion adds 8 adorable, horrifying, or plain-ole-awesome fur/feather/tentacle friends to roam your ship while you hunt the high seas!

Gen Con 24 Playtesting Testimonials

“… hooked me from the very start.”

“So many dice rolls!! Yay”

“The upgrade strategy system integrated with the plunder. It reminded me of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag with infamy and upgrades.”

“Theme was on point, but could use some scurvy (sic) though”

“Mechanics, cool theme, lots of stuff but it never felt overbearing like some games with this much stuff going on. Easy to learn, but lots of options to make it a different experience each time.”

“I like the risk/reward calculations you had to do to figure out if you should push on or what merchants to attack”
