Special Early Access: Dank & Dark, a Rules-Light Fantasy RPG by Philip Reed

Greetings, brave hero! Welcome to the treacherous tunnels and deadly dungeons of Dank & Dark. This minimalist fantasy roleplaying game* includes almost everything the gamemaster and players will need to explore the subterranean locales that only come into existence over the course of play.

As a rules-light fantasy RPG, Dank & Dark does not include exhaustive rules for every possible situation you may stumble across during a game session. Instead, the game is a rough framework on which the gamemaster and players may craft their own adventures. Veterans of rules-heavy RPGs may find this to be alien, but hey – you can think of it as a new adventure!

And if you’re unfamiliar with tabletop roleplaying games, you may find yourself overwhelmed and confused by the entire topic. We hope this game may be a good gateway of exploration into this genre, with plenty of explanation along the way. But don’t worry too much; all that a tabletop RPG comes down to is “make believe . . . with rules.” Thank you for playing pretend with us.

This rules-light fantasy RPG is designed as a 24-page, 6" x 6" children's board book. The game is fast-playing and fantastic for one-shot sessions and conventions.
