Welcome to Sehe Gandia

You are Bande, the animal children of this wide land. You are either Bande Dhaben, chosen, or Bande Kupende, the forsaken. All Bande seek the love of the Golden God, the brilliant gold sun in the center of our world that makes the inlands chosen, and the outlands forsaken. Eternal day, eternal night. The favored children of the golden god, or those forgotten to face the Vast Empty.

Sehe Gandia

Sehe Gandia is a sphere planetoid that is hollow, with open spaces, caves, and passages that allow intrepid adventurers to travel between the outer and inner surfaces. Inworld, the resplendent kingdoms and fellowships of the many nations bask in the glow of the golden sun, the world's progenitor and bringer of eternal day. Those who find themselves here believe themselves to be chosen by the Golden God. Nations and kingdoms fight for the land here to maintain a foothold as the chosen ones.

Assassinations, war, political drama and social ills plague this land even in the eternal sunshine. Where will you help make it better, or worse?

"In the glow of God's Eyes, every shadow is an ocean."

Outworld, the forgotten and damned find themselves against the eternal empty of the strangelit sky. The golden glow of Inworld fades here into a purple-blue haze, where it is lost in the pitch black. Distant jealous gods gleam in orange, white, and red far away, as if tiny suns. Their progeny, the Damned, slink from the endless sky to Outworld, enemies of all the Bande, Dhaben and Kupende alike. As forgotten as they are, the Bande that live here band together to hold off this vile tide, or merely live in anonymity in the vast barren landscape.

The Shell connects these two worlds, the crust of Sehe Gandia which is miles thick, hiding cave systems, oceans, hidden towns and cities, and passage-bearers who help those who seek to cross from In to Out, or more difficultly, Out to In. Do you have the proper papers to come In from the dark...?

The Weave

But no Bande does their work, Inworld or Outworld, alone. In their hearts, all Bande carry a golden strand of their progenitor. This strange tapestry is a central piece of their soulweave, a wrapped, knit, and knotted core of their very being. All Bande, whether they mean to or not, make use of their Weave.

An athlete in hard training and focus creates patterns in their weave that they call on from time to time to push their limits and break records. A politician saves an argument in their weave without meaning to, finding it comes to mind just when they need it. Barkanists know the form of their weave closely, and weave in explosive shouting spells into it they unweave when needed.

The System

FUR & SCALE uses a set of d4, d6, d8, d10, and d12s to represent your attributes, and additional d4s for each skill point you have under a skill. At creation, players get to choose their species traits to emulate their animal-self, from the immense size of the whale Bande to the keen scent of the wolf Bande, all animals can be explored in this trait building system.

To take action against adversity in this world, Bande take challenges, rolling their Attribute plus relevant skills and aiming to overcome either a set difficulty or an opposed roll. On their own, dice are chaos-- able with 1d12 and 5d4 to roll as high as 32, or as low as 6. This is where a Bande's Weave comes into play.

Players choose the path for their Bande's Weave. Is it purely physical in use, mental, or magical? Bande may have Weaves that represent a combination of any two of these traits, or all three. A purely physical weave sheet will have more space for all the physical traits and weave abilities a Bande might need, whereas a Bande who has a Weave that represents all three of these traits will find they have limited space for each, but the flexibility to dip into all three.

Weave abilities can do things like lock in free low-roll locks once a day, preventing you from rolling lower than half of your possible roll. They can be permanent knots in your weave that always give a flat number bonus to your challenge rolls, raising the floor for your lowest rolls. In a burst of inspiration, a Bande might undo a Weave in their soul to unlock d6 skill dice for a roll, raising the maximum roll possible to 42!

Weave can also be a learned skill itself for those who pursue magics, unlocking the ability to animate dead bodies with intricate knots in the Bande's Weave, fade into shadows, or call out a command that must be heard. Each day, Weave users work on knitting their souls into particular shapes to be undone in sections to cast simplified spells, or all at once to cast complex spells.

The Adventures!

Will you be a shadow-knife of the Feln Kingdom, helping them break their pacts with other nations through loopholes to maintain their space in the Inworld? Or how about Innersea diplomats helping to manage trade by sea between the nearby warring nations? Will you be forsaken kindred, banished to the Outworld for crimes (real or framed) commit Inworld?

Do you live in Outworld your whole life, the bulwark that protects Sehe Gandia from the Damned horrors from space? Or are you the messengers racing Inworld to warn the kingdoms that the line has fallen, and the Damned approach? Or maybe you were crossing the Shell and happened years ago on the entrance to an ancient fort, full of strange creatures and treasures, and now you return, prepared to loot the goods with mercenaries or friends.

You may be friends in arms in the kitchen, running a restaurant against your enemies with that nice burger cart. Or performers for a king. Or bandits on a long stretch of road, finding new ways to avoid royal guard each day as your territory shrinks.

In Sehe Gandia, challenges can take any form. Traditional dungeon crawl? Certainly. Survival horror against the horrors from the stars? Of course. Debate forums to overturn local town ordinances? Why not. This system is built to face adversity, no matter the form it takes.

In Sehe Gandia, your adventure awaits.
