Welcome to our prelaunch support and announcement site for Franklin the Pigeon Had A Very Bad Day!
We are thrilled to be able to participate in the development and retelling of Franklin the Pigeon’s story in an 8" x 8" softcover illustrated book for children with the permission and support of Chris (who Franklin perceives as "the Man" in the story). This delightful take on the true story illustrates how we can all impact and enrich the lives of others (and ourselves) simply by caring and doing what we can when we see someone in need. The story begins with a broken and battered pigeon, Franklin, and his encounter with Chris on a hot sidewalk outside of Chris's office. Franklin was unable to fly or walk and Chris felt a tug at his heart. Unwilling to leave him to the inevitable consequences of his condition, Chris rescues Franklin by placing him in a box and taking him home. This random act of kindness not only contributed to the eventual rehabilitation of Franklin but also evolved into a unique, humorous, and life changing friendship for both Franklin and Chris.
The purpose of this landing site is to raise awareness of the project and allow us the ability to notify you of any changes to our schedule, keep you updated on our progress/launch date, and to help us spread the word about this inspirational story. If you haven't participated in a crowdfunding campaign before, be aware that we are not asking you to make any financial commitment at this time. However, we are hoping that you will demonstrate your support for our project now by clicking the "Sign Up" button above and providing your email address. As the project moves forward, we hope you will also consider backing our book with your financial pledges when our crowdfunding campaign formally launches. We anticipate launching the crowd funding campaign through Kickstarter on 4-15-23.
