ErikDHarshman

Erik D. Harshman was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. His first novel HUMANSVILLE (a modern Faustian tale of Gothic horror) was written in 2001 and published in late 2006. His second novel (an anthology of short horror stories, SHADES OF DARKNESS) was published in 2009. Currently, he has six completed novels (in genres ranging from espionage spy thrillers to autobiographical dark comedies and trangressive realism) sitting on his shelf, unpublished. He has also penned eighteen unproduced screenplays. Most of them residing in the horror genre, with some of his most recent work veering into other genres, such as dark psychodrama and a nostalgic, raunchy buddy comedy. 
His current screenplay (PERSONAL DEMONS) was a semi-finalist at Shriekfest 2016, won First Prize in the 2018 FadeIn Horror Screenplay competition, was included in the 2019 Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival, an “Honorable Mention” at the 2021 Astrophobia Science Fiction & Horror Film Festival (Courtenay, BC, Canada), an official selection of the 2021 American Horror Film Festival (Tempe, AZ.), a Finalist at the Be Afraid Horror Fest (in Udine, Italy) 2021, an Honorable Mention at the 2023 Days of the Dead International Film Festival and a Finalist at the 2024 Hollywood Blood Horror Fest (Los Angeles). 
Currently, Mr. Harshman works as an English professor and holds a BA in Creative Writing (with a minor in Film), a Masters in Education (with emphasis in English) and a MA in English. He will soon begin work on his PhD in English. 
Mr. Harshman lives, works and writes in St. Louis.
