Hey there! I’m Michael Hamannt, a fantasy author. In Germany you might know me as the author of the bestselling series The Whispering Books, which recently hit the shelves in English. Ever since I was a teen, I’ve been hooked on fantasy—especially queer fantasy stories. My first gay fantasy novel is The Thief of the Moon Tear, and I’ll be launching it on Backerkit soon. I’ve also written a popular queer series called The Wizards of London (German: Die Hexer von London), and with your support, I’d love to make it available to English-speaking readers too!

For the English market, I decided to go with the pen name Nathan Parker Briggs. Why? Well, for one, I love the name Nathan, and honestly, I’ve always wanted a cool pen name. Let me tell you—it’s all incredibly exciting!

How about a bit more information on me? I write urban fantasy and romantic fantasy novels, and I’m a passionate fan of Scotland. In my spare time, I play countless board games and devour books like there’s no tomorrow. After all, reading is dreaming—and who would we be without our dreams?

I have a special fondness for English, Scottish, and Irish myths, which is why many of my books are set in Great Britain. Especially in London, with its diverse neighborhoods and rich cultural backgrounds, I find incredible potential for thrilling stories about magic, enchanted libraries, grumpy ghosts, and alluring witches and wizards.

What else do I love? Cats! My cat Alina is now over 17 years old—a well-groomed elderly lady who spends her days snoozing on the sofa or curled up in her cozy cat cave. Enviable, isn’t it? And I have a serious sweet tooth for ice cream, gummy bears, and cake.
