Lover of classical music, folk tunes, jazz, pub songs, and church music of all eras, I grew up playing violin and singing, but am retired from those now, and have become a listener full of appreciation. Wordplay is a fun pastime, as well as reading mysteries and histories. I skied as a teen, now I exercise in water. I've lived in some remote areas, including an island or two, and a high mountain wilderness. Thirty years in the desert have given me enough sunshine to last the rest of my life, and I long to be among green trees and other lush vegetation, soon to be the setting of my new abode. Travel was a dream of mine, but rarely became a reality, except for one brief foray into Micronesia where my engineer son was living, and another to the UK with a choir concert tour of England and Scotland. I did live in Canada for twenty two years, where my pilot son still lives, and there I came to appreciate slightly differing Canadian cultures. I may try to visit my computer geek/financier son now living in the Mediterranean one day. My family of four adult children including a nurse daughter, four adult grandchildren, and two great-grands are mostly gathered in the Pacific Northwest now, so that is where I want to be. I hope to find a progressive and transforming church there that also respects its traditions while welcoming a diversity of people, as well providing service to and with the community. And I want to go to professional quality plays in a real theater.
