If a building can have a biography, this is it. The author presents JP Morgan Chase’s new world headquarters as a human metaphor, in an engaging story of transformation that goes beyond a company, a neighborhood, a city. And a skyline.

As human beings, we all interact with and have an effect on those around us whether subtle or dramatic. The inspiring architectural, environmental and communal impact of JP Morgan Chase’s new global headquarters will, for many years to come, have earned its author’s christening as The Belle of Park Avenue.

270 Park Ave

Fast forward to the mid-2000s. Now I’m on the West Coast, walking the streets of San Francisco, which bustle to a slower, less frenetic beat than they pulsate to in New York. That’s when I began to marvel at the city’s tall buildings and wonder how they ever came to be. While my knowledge of construction is limited to non-existent, I can appreciate how much skill, know-how and ingenuity must go into creating such behemoths.

And yet, it occurred to me that birthing a building is kind of like birthing a baby, don’t you think?

I have decided to produce books on tall buildings in major world cities. I need to hire ghostwriters (and pay them – what the money's for). The first book – JPMorgan Chase’s new HQ at 270 Park in NYC will be finished fall 2024.

The books are “biographies” likening buildings to humans, i.e. ancestry, conception, gestation, birth. Please consider donating to receive a signed copy.
