After failing to stop the Massacre of Toxcatl, Spanish conquistador Diego De Rojas, uncovers a buried prison beneath Chichén Itzá and unknowingly unleashes Lucifer.
In a desperate attempt to stop the Devil’s escape, Diego seals the prison shut with his own flesh, bonding his soul with an ancient curse.
Condemned to walk the Earth through endless reincarnation, Diego is reborn throughout history to hunt the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Each Horseman hides behind the face of power, manipulating War, Conquest, Famine, and Death from the shadows of history.

What happens when Danny Trejo walks into a legendary sword maker’s workshop?
We took Year of the Devil to Tony Swatton’s famous Sword and the Stone shop for a little hands-on research.
Co-creator Keith Arem joined master swordsmith Tony Swatton, David C. Hernandez, Tristen Ivan Crisol, Isaac Singleton Jr. and the legendary Danny Trejo to get up close with some serious history.
Tony showed us a hand-built macuahuitl, an authentic conquistador rapier… and then we started talking about what Diego should carry next.
Let’s just say an Aztec-inspired machete may be coming to Year of the Devil.
