A long long time ago, on a distant plane of existence, Adhar the Overgod sat alone amongst the primal void. At his whim he could shape matter and energy and he was tired to float alone in the depths of time. From his will he drew out the eternal flame sending it into the vortex of chaos and a new world began to form.
Telluria.
The Eternal Flame was then sent to the world as a divine being, Teine, that in the subsequent eras led a rebellion, challenging the Overgod for the rule over Telluria.
The wrath of Adhar was terrible. He turned his power on the world, sending fire from the sky, cataclysms, earthquakes. All life was extinct, cities and settlements were leveled. Earth covered them and the grass grew over all.
Teine herself was punished. Adhar split the Flame into two halves:
Vehra Demigoddess of Order Celtia Demigoddess of Chaos
The two newborn entities were imprisoned on a celestial island adrift in the astral plane. After the Cataclysm, life began to spring anew.
The fabric of reality itself is torn. Time and space cohexist together, separated only by a thin veil of mystical flame.
In the year 2100, a young girl by the name Annelise, finds out that she is the Chosen One and that somewhere in time she is not alone. She can see into the flames a parallel reality that overlaps with her own.
By the Curse of Adhar, Four Plagues are dooming the world in both 1st and 3rd Age:
Darkness and Cold. Undeath. Disease. Reality Rifts.
